NEWS RELEASE
Northeast Publications Announces the Winners of
The Cape Cod Travel Guide's 2004 Editor's Choice Awards
Cape Cod, Massachusetts…February 9, 2004….Northeast Publications,
publishers of the Cape Cod Travel Guide, the premier travel magazine
promoting tourism to the Cape and Islands, is proud to announce the winners
of their 2004 Editor's Choice Awards. Selected from among all of the
Cape and Islands properties, the establishments have earned the Cape
Cod Travel Guide's 2004 Editor's Choice Award for being truly exceptional.
Please visit www.capecodtravelguide.com to see a list of winners.
Winning properties were paid unannounced visits by editorial staff to
review them for inclusion in the Cape Cod Travel Guide magazine. The
above winning properties were selected as exceptional based on the following
criteria: exterior/interior maintenance, location, uniqueness, amenities,
décor and ambiance, and good value.
Winners of the 2004 Editor's Choice Awards will be featured in the 2004
Spring/Summer edition of the Cape Cod Travel Guide, included in the newly-redesigned
website, and will receive wall plaques to display in their establishments.
The Cape Cod Travel Guide has always used this method for selecting
the properties it reviews. This year, editors decided to highlight those
properties that they believe to be exceptional by bestowing them with
the Editor's Choice Award. By making unannounced visits, the editorial
staff has some anonymity, and assures that their experiences will be
comparable to any first time diner or lodger. All of the properties reviewed
by the Cape Cod Travel Guide editors are selected independent of advertising
support. Not all properties reviewed are advertisers, and not all advertisers
receive reviews. This methodology provides readers with an honest and
accurate guide to find those lodging and dining establishments on Cape
Cod that are exceptional.
The Cape Cod Travel Guide's 4-color, glossy format and national distribution
set it apart from the numerous other Cape Cod publications and "guides".
The Cape Cod Travel Guide has sold over 1 million copies since 1993 and
is the only Cape Cod publication sold nationwide through newsstands across
the country, including Borders, Barnes & Noble, Stop & Shop and
other nationally recognized retailers.
